Thank you for your purchase of a Toshiba Energy Storage System (ESS) device. RemotEye® ESS is a network card designed for Toshiba's SCiB ESS. It receives the status and data from the SCiB ESS host board to provide it to other systems. This data can be transmitted to other systems, such as building management systems via Modbus TCP/RTU, SNMP, and BACnet/IP protocols for trending and events monitoring.

Selected RemotEye® Set IP Window Step 3: First Time Setup 1. Launch your web browser and enter your RemotEye ESS’s IP Address into the search bar or select a RemotEye and click “Browse” within Tupgrade 2. Enter the default username: TOSHIBA and password: ADMIN to login and start the First-Time Setup process.
3. Follow the instructions on the First-Time Setup page on the web application to complete the first-time setup process. ESS. (Max logs: 1024) EMD General Log By default, it is set to record data every minute. Thus, it provides up to 2d 20h 16m 0s worth of data. The polling rate can be customized for a longer period. (Max Logs: 4096) EMD General Extended By default, it records in one-hour intervals.

Modbus RTU Setup: 1. Login to become an administrator and go to the settings page by clicking the "gear" icon on the top navigation bar. 2. BACnet/IP Setup BACnet/IP Protocol is supported in firmware version v2.2.4.16 and above. The following will help you set up your RemotEye® ESS to communicate with another system via BACnet/IP. BACnet/IP Setup: 1. Login to become an administrator and go to the settings page by clicking the "gear" icon on the top navigation bar.
Toshiba Monitoring System (TMS) is a monitoring service that allows Toshiba experts to monitor your SCiB ESS 24/7. If interested go to "Toshiba Monitoring Service" within the "Settings" menu and fill in the required information. After submitting the form a TMS representative will call you to setup the service.
MQTT Settings Setup This settings page allows connectivity to the TMS monitoring service. Once you have received two files from a TMS agent, go to the "Upload" tab of the "IoT Server Settings" section within the "Settings/Toshiba Monitoring System" menu.
SNMP Setup SNMP Protocol is supported in firmware version v2.2.4.16 and above. SNMPv1/v2c and SNMPv3 are enabled by default. To change the default configurations, follow the below steps. 1. Login to become an Administrator and go to the settings page by clicking the "gear" icon on the top navigation bar.
Note: The RemotEye® ESS can only store up to 8 SNMPv3 usernames. 6. Select the trap type. The setting options are "None" and "TOSHIBA". If "None" is selected, traps are not sent. If "TOSHIBA" is selected, traps are received based on the Toshiba mib.
Self-Signed SSL Click on the "Self-Signed SSL" tab of the "HTTPS" section and follow the steps to generate a new self- signed certificate. Custom SSL Click on the "Custom SSL" tab of the "HTTPS" section and follow the steps and the user guide page's example to create a custom SSL certificate.
This section allows enabling/disabling network-specific protocols. To access this section, login as an administrator and go to the "Settings/System" page. SSH – This allows access to the RemotEye ESS console menu via SSH. Network Upgrade - This allows the user to perform a firmware upgrade via the network. This enables/disables the "Guest Mode" button on the login screen. If enabled, it allows any user to login with read-only access. (Default: Enabled). Login Screen This setting allows administrators to enable/disable the login screen. If disabled, any user will be routed inside the RemotEye ESS with read-only access. The temperature unit set will be reflected in all the temperature-based parameters. Once changes are made, click the "Save" button to save. It also allows the user to view the communication settings and status between RemotEye ESS and the SCiB ESS cabinet.
Configuring EMD with Web Browser Initial Configuration The following will help you setup and configure the optional environmental sensor (EMD). The EMD device allows the user to monitor environmental temperature and humidity. It also has the ability to add two additional sensors that can be connected to its two digital inputs.
4. If successful, the temperature and humidity will update shortly on the "Monitoring" page under the "Environmental Device" located in the side menu. Temperature Thresholds Settings The RemotEye® ESS allows users to configure temperature alarms to alert you whenever a temperature threshold has been reached.
Warning (High) Enter the threshold when you want to be notified when temperature is getting close to critical high level. This value has to be lower than critical high setting. Setup Port (mini-USB port) RemotEye® ESS provides the ability to connect to its console to allow device configuration. This will allow you to have access to the RemotEye® ESS network settings. Appendix A Technical Information Modbus Register Table All registers are 16-bit in size with read-only access. The data is stored on the "Read Holding Registers" table. To access the data it requires to use "03" function code. The max request allowable per query is 100 registers with 500ms delay between polls. *SCiB gives temperature data in Celsius.
